Due to our clients’ requirements and timeframes, only candidates with eligibility to work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reading and analysing blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to determine materials, dimensions, and installation requirements.
  • Choosing appropriate metal stock (e.g., stainless steel, galvanized iron, aluminium) and verifying sizes, gauges, and dimensions.
  • Cutting, shaping, and forming metal using hand and power tools such as shears, presses, rollers, and plasma cutters.
  • Constructing ducting systems by welding, riveting, soldering, or brazing. Applying finishing touches like sanding, polishing, and cleaning.
  • Installing and securing ductwork at various heights, including overhead installations. Applying insulation (lagging) and connecting to HVAC systems as required.
  • Performing repairs on damaged components and specialising in areas such as on-site assembly, fabrication, or custom installations.
Requirements:

  • A 3+ years of experience fabricating and installing duct and working with Sheetmetal
  • Proven experience working on complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of ducting principles including working with seismic brackets
  • High attention to detail, solid problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and high quality of work
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour
  • A valid driver license and reliable transport
